I’ve tried a range of antivirus software over the years but found Avast one of the most user-friendly. It may not impact a Mac as much as a PC, but I'm still no stranger to a cleaner program. Needless to say, that leaves a lot of files behind. I tend to learn by doing, so I will install a program, play with it, and if it doesn't do what I want, I'll take it off again just as quickly. Even the most efficiently designed operating systems slow down after a while.
